Together with the Borderstep Institute and the Federal Association of German Startups, the University of Oldenburg is conducting a nationwide dialogue series with a total of 12 dialogue events. The dialogue series: Strengthening Green Start-ups!, funded by the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), aims to discuss knowledge about the framework conditions, significance, trends and obstacles of green start-ups with decision-makers from politics, companies and funding agencies. This is intended to trigger new or intensified initiatives for the target group-oriented promotion of green start-ups.
The effects of climate change in particular present companies and start-ups with major and new challenges. On the one hand, they are affected by the increasing climate change. On the other hand, as problem-solvers, they can contribute to mitigating the consequences of climate change through new technologies, products and services. Start-ups in particular are of great relevance when it comes to developing the necessary sustainability-oriented business models and bringing radically new solutions to market.
Against this background, our next dialogue event will take place in Oldenburg on 22 April 2020 to discuss the following questions with Minister Olaf Lies and DBU Secretary General Alexander Bonde, among others:
- How important are start-ups in identifying and implementing business opportunities in times of climate change?
- Which framework conditions, trends and hurdles have to be taken into account when promoting green start-ups in a target group-oriented manner?
The dialogue event "Green Start-ups. Entrepreneurial Opportunities through Climate Protection and Adaptation" will take place on
22 April 2020 at 5 pm in the TGO.
