Municipalities and districts play an important role in the development of a hydrogen economy and the implementation of the energy transition. Be it as a planning and approval authority, through their procurement system or also due to their local roots and proximity to the citizens.
Against this background, the Wesermarsch Energy Region Network has set up the project "Acceptance of hydrogen in the Northwest Metropolitan Region: challenges at the municipal level". The project measures include an online survey throughout the entire metropolitan region and a workshop that was offered in Bremerhaven and in the Wesermarsch district.
The network now invites you to a renewed exchange of the project:
Tuesday, 13 June 2023 at the Kulturmühle Berne, Lange Straße 74, 27804 Berne, starting at 2 pm.
The event is part of the Hydrogen Week, which takes place from 10 to 18 June 2023.
Among other things, the event will provide you with
- the results of the online survey in the Northwest Metropolitan Region a deeper understanding of the overall context of the energy transformation.
- how the energy transformation is currently taking place in practice in a municipality in the district of Friesland and what challenges are associated with it
- what approaches exist to strengthen the role of municipalities in the expansion of the hydrogen economy
- the necessity of hydrogen as a form of storage for green electricity
- Hydrogen in the gas grid for more supply stability and social compatibility
